The MI AMI (acronym for Important Music to Milan) Festival is the most important show about Independent Rock Italian music & youth’s culture organized by Rockit (www.rockit.it) association in Milan city on June each year (in 2012 on 11th and from 15th to 17th)
Every time, for three days, more than 60 Italian alternative bands plays their music on three different stages (the “Pertini” as the name of one of the most representative Italian Republic President “Sandro Pertini”; the “Collinetta” where unplugged music has played among trees and grass; the “Torcida” where hard rock band play their power at high volume).
The MI AMI has always been ahead of his time and it is a good thermometer to see what will happen about music in Italy. In fact on last editions passed different bands and artists now becomes very important at the national level as Dente, A Toys Orchestra, Linea 77, Sick Tamburo and Beatrice Antolini.
After the first edition in 2005 the festival introduced other subjects over music introducing the comic challenge (MI FAI), now one of the most important Italian exhibition about new cartoonist and a new room for speaking and discussing about poetry, literature and readings (MI PENSI).
In 2012 the newness are free of charge short workshops and courses of 30 min regarding different arguments as graphic journalism, vector realism, photography, vegetable gardening on your balcony, fishing and fashion.

Il MI AMI (Musica Importante a Milano) è il più importante festival della Musica Indipendente Italiana e della cultura giovanile organizzato da Rockit (www.rockit.it) a Milano ogni anno in Giugno (nel 2012,  l’11 e tra il 15 e il 17).
Ogni volta, per tre giorni, più di 60 band suonano la loro musica alternandosi su tre palchi (il “Pertini” in onore del nostro presidente; la “Collinetta” dove le melodie più soft e “unplugged” sono suonate tra alberi e prati dell’Idroscalo milanese; la “Torcida” per mettere il volume a palla fa esprimere al massimo la potenza delle band più “hard”)
Il Mi Ami è sempre stato precursore dei tempi ed è un ottimo termometro per capire cosa succederà di nuovo nella musica in Italia, come dimostra il successo nazionale di artisti che hanno calcato i palchi dei MI AMI passati quali Dente, A Toys Orchestra, Linea 77, Sick Tamburo e Beatrice Antolini.
Dopo la prima edizione del 2005 il festival ha introdotto nuove materie e soggetti culturali di confronto come il concorso del disegno e fumetto (MI FAI), oggi diventato uno dei momenti più conosciuti del settore, e lo spazio dedicato alla poesia, alla letteratura e alla lettura (Mi PENSI).
La novità del 2012 sono i corsi e workshop gratuiti di 30 min su differenti argomenti come Graphic Journalism, Vectorelism, Fotografia, Orto Sostenibile,  Pesca e Moda.
